Taking care of your data
Privacy notice
At Saint Pierre, personal care also extends to how we handle your data. Below we explain the information we use and why.
What data do we use?
For a reservation, we process your name, contact details, stay dates, number of guests and information about the reserved room(s). Where necessary, this also includes address and billing details, payment status and messages about your stay.
You provide this information yourself. If you book through another platform, we receive your booking details from that platform. Required fields are needed to process your reservation; without this information, we may be unable to complete your booking.
Why do we use your data?
We use your data to fulfil your reservation, answer questions, send arrival information and handle payments and administration. The legal basis is taking steps before entering into, or performing, the contract. Mandatory administrative records are kept to meet legal obligations.
Technical security and preventing misuse serve our legitimate interest in a secure website. Where processing requires consent, we request it separately. You may withdraw that consent.
Who is your data shared with?
We use Smoobu and the Duda website builder for our website and reservations. Our communication and administrative service providers may also process data to provide their services. The relevant bank or payment provider also processes data when you make a payment.
We limit access to what is necessary to provide services or meet a legal obligation. Parties processing data on our behalf must comply with confidentiality and security arrangements.
Technical service providers may operate outside the European Economic Area. Smoobu lists the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where necessary, European standard contractual clauses as safeguards. You may ask us for more information about the relevant processing.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep data for as long as necessary for your reservation, stay and related follow-up. Messages about a separate enquiry are kept while that enquiry and any follow-up questions are being handled.
Financial records are retained for the applicable statutory retention period. Relevant data may be needed for longer in the case of an outstanding payment or dispute. Afterwards, data is deleted or anonymised.
Cookies and technical data
The website, availability calendars and booking module use technical data and may use functional cookies or similar storage, for example to remember a booking step or secure the connection. When these elements load, the relevant technical providers receive information including your IP address and browser details.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser. This may affect how parts of the website or booking module work. Any use requiring consent may take place only after that consent has been given.
What are your privacy rights?
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data. Depending on the circumstances, you may also object to processing, request a restriction or ask for your data to be transferred. A statutory retention obligation may prevent us from deleting certain data immediately.
Send your request to info@bbsaintpierre.nl. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity carefully. Please do not send a full copy of your identity document unless requested.
If you have a complaint, please contact us. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority ↗.
